Excel-Based Tool for Forecasting and Planning

We rebuilt the client’s forecasting tool using modern direct integrations, simplifying workflows while improving performance and protecting IP.

The situation

The client had developed Excel templates for their clients to use for forecasting and planning, but the templates were slow to use and incompatible with the newer cloud version of Amadeus Delphi.

The opportunity

To modernise their templates and to future-proof them for the years to come.

How we made it happen

We reviewed the existing templates and chose to rebuild them from the ground up. Using newer Excel features, we connected the templates directly to Amadeus Delphi, removing manual steps and improving performance.

We then added (VBA) automation to simplify forecasting workflows and protect the client’s intellectual property.

What changed

  • A faster, more reliable Excel tool aligned with the cloud platform
  • Forecasting and planning workflows simplified for end users
  • Intellectual property protected within the tool
  • Rolled out successfully across around 50 properties in North America

Why it matters

Rebuilding the tool delivered the most value for the least effort. It was both the fastest way to fix the problem and the most effective long-term solution.
