Labour Analysis
The situation
Our client’s chief financial officer was sure that there were ways in which they could optimise their use of labour, but they weren’t able to identify where and when.
The opportunity
The data already existed across operational systems. If labour and revenue statistics could be seen together, there would be a straightforward way to see where labour was over- or under-performing.
How we made it happen
We brought together data from the property management system and the time and attendance system into Snowflake and Power BI. By combining labour cost with revenue data, we created clear reporting that showed labour ROI by outlet and time of day.
What changed
- Managers could review historical shift patterns alongside revenue forecasts
- Staff rotas were planned with a clear view of expected return
- Labour ROI increased by 10%
- The same Power BI model supported more interactive performance reporting across the business
Why it matters
Managers could see where staffing made a difference and adjust accordingly, improving efficiency without compromising service.
